THREE OPERATING METHODS TRADITIONAL DIAL IN MODEM ACCESS METHOD MODEM SWITCH will answer ALL incoming calls FIRST, briefly “listen” to this call for Modem Calling Tones (1300Hz CNG Tones) and then connect the call to your Modem or Other Device(s). ALTERNATIVE DIAL IN MODEM ACCESS METHOD A small number of Modem Devices may not send Modem Calling Tones when dialling out. In this situation, additional digits are added to the destination telephone number. These DTMF digits are used to command Modem Switch to connect the incoming call to the attached Modem Device. FAXSTREAM DUET DIAL IN MODEM ACCESS METHOD MODEM SWITCH also provides for those customers who wish to use the new Telstra FaxStream Duet service, (now or in the future) where a new additional telephone number, specifically for use as your Modem number, is added to your telephone line. This service is available from Telstra at a cost of $6.00 per month. TELSTRA CALLING NUMBER DISPLAY MODEM SWITCH is completely compatible with the use of ADSL on the same telephone line. A Dip Switch setting is provided, which if enabled, will allow the Calling Number Display (CLI) information to be passed through to your CLI Reader device, before MODEM SWITCH answers the call. ADSL MODEM SWITCH is completely compatible with the use of ADSL on the same telephone line, PROVIDING A HIGH QUALITY CENTRAL ADSL FILTER IS USED. This filter should be connected between the LINE port of MODEM SWITCH and the telephone socket that it is attached to. Note - Basic ADSL filters as suplied for use with telephones ARE NOT ADEQUATE.
